LOUISIANA FCU HOSTS COMMUNITY EXPO WITH ANNUAL MEETING
LaPlace, LA – Louisiana Federal Credit Union hosted its first Community Expo on Saturday, March 31, 2007 in conjunction with their annual membership meeting. The event took place at the St. John Community Center.
“It was a way to enhance the credit union philosophy by giving back to our community,” said Mia Perez, Director of Marketing and Business Development, “and it presented a great opportunity for us to educate our community about who we are and what we offer.” In addition to food, prizes, and a live radio remote from a local radio station, members and non-members were invited to attend a free Identity Theft seminar held during the Expo. “It was very timely,” said Kim Bourgeois, Business Development Coordinator, “especially considering that lottery scams and fraud have been all over the media in our area.”
The event, which was open to the public, also included food, prizes, health and wellness screenings, and a chance to win a new car. The Credit Union also created a Kid’s Corner with crafts and games, fingerprinting by St. John Parish Sheriff’s Department, and a children’s wood building workshop by Home Depot. The annual membership meeting was held at the conclusion of the Expo.
Louisiana Federal Credit Union is a full-service not-for-profit financial institution serving over 20,000 members in the River Parishes and Tangipahoa Parish area.
