LOUISIANA FCU EMPLOYEES HELP BUILD A NEW HOME
LaPlace, LA – On a normal day, employees of Louisiana Federal Credit Union help people finance homes, but on October 10th they helped build one. Over 30 employees and their family members volunteered to build a home in the Upper 9th Ward of New Orleans. “We partnered with Habitat for Humanity and spent a day building a house for a very deserving individual, Mr. Kevin Bright,” said Sales Development Coordinator, Magan Ellard. “The hard labor made for a long day, but was a result of what we at Louisiana FCU believe in and do best –the credit union philosophy of People Helping People.”
In addition to the Build Day sponsorship, Louisiana FCU's employee donated an additional $2000 to the organization.
New Orleans Area Habitat for Humanity, an independent affiliate of Habitat for Humanity International, is a 501(c) 3 non-profit organization. NOAHH builds new houses in partnership with sponsors, volunteers, and homeowner families to eliminate poverty housing in the New Orleans area while serving as a catalyst to make decent shelter a matter of conscience and action.
Louisiana Federal Credit Union is a full-service not-for-profit financial institution serving over 20,000 members in the River Parishes and Tangipahoa Parish area.
