LOUISIANA FCU DONATES TO KOMEN FOR THE CURE

LaPlace, LA – In observance of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, Louisiana Federal Credit Union employees donated over $2000 to Susan G. Komen for the Cure. During October and early November, Louisiana FCU employees were encouraged to wear pink attire to work in exchange for a small donation of two dollars per day. More than 90% of the staff participated in the fundraiser.

In addition to dress down days, Louisiana FCU partnered with New Orleans Hamburger and Seafood Company to raise $900 for Komen. “It was loads of fun, said Louisiana FCU President/CEO, Rhonda Hotard, “Doing something for a good cause always makes you feel good inside, but seeing the support from the community makes it even more meaningful.” Hotard and ten credit union representatives raised tips and donations during the restaurant’s featured server night on November 14th.

Susan G. Komen for the Cure has invested more than $1.2 billion over the past 26 years, towards saving lives, empowering people, ensuring quality care for all and fulfilling a promise to end breast cancer forever.

Louisiana Federal Credit Union is a full-service not-for-profit financial institution serving over 20,000 members in the River Parishes and Tangipahoa Parish area.
