Scholarship
Louisiana Federal Credit Union’s $2000 scholarship honors the late Ronald E. Thomas for his local and national contributions to the credit union movement. Thomas, who passed away in 2002, was a board member of the Credit Union for more than 65 years. Thomas was a forward thinker, an optimist, a successful visionary recognized for who he was, which led us to this year’s topic:
“What makes you an exemplary citizen, student, or person that should be the recipient of the 2010 Ronald E. Thomas Memorial Scholarship?”
This year, we were pleased to have 36 entrants from multiple high schools in the River Parish area. The winner is Nina Hymel, a Credit Union member and student attending St Mary’s Dominican High School. Click here to read Nina’s winning essay.
