Credit cards, debit cards, eStatements and online banking; through these forums our society is going paperless. As technology progresses we are becoming less dependent on a staple in our society. We rarely use file cabinets, now they are just an icon on our computer screen. Emails have replaced hand written letters and I wonder if one day we will even know how to write in cursive?

With the good also comes the bad. Information is instant and at our fingertips but not everything is safe. We must constantly update our security because identity theft is on the rise. Anyone can access our information if we are not careful.

Communication is no longer personal. Unfortunately, it is now behind a screen or through a smart phone. Technology is fast passed and constantly improving. So, while the world around us is quickly advancing don't forget to stop and take a breath. Sit down, grab a piece of paper and send a loved one or friend a nice long letter! We don't know how long we can take advantage of this dying format.
